About Me

Hello, I’m Shirley.

I’m a qualified psychotherapist and hypnotherapist with over 7 years of professional experience, but my real expertise comes from living it too.

As a mum of four children, I know what stress looks like. I understand the exhaustion of juggling endless demands, the pressure to hold it all together, and how easy it is to turn to food when life feels overwhelming.

My own weight has fluctuated by 10kg in a year. I’ve been classed as overweight according to my BMI, even when people said I didn’t look it. I know the frustration of trying to shift those stubborn pounds, the emotional swings, and the constant battle between wanting to feel good and just wanting comfort.

That’s exactly why I do what I do.

I created a proven approach using hypnotherapy and compassionate guidance so you can finally find balance without constant restriction, guilt, or another failed diet.

Whether you’re struggling with emotional eating, feeling stuck with your weight, or simply exhausted from fighting yourself, I’m here to help you reconnect with yourself and create lasting change.

About Me

My Approach

I’m a fully qualified and insured hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, adhering to the ethical standards of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society and National Hypnotherapy Society.

I’m trained in multiple therapeutic approaches, which allows me to draw from various tools as needed. However, my primary focus for sustainable weight loss is the powerful combination of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, and Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT) – the methods that create the deepest, most lasting transformation in your relationship with food and your body.

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy which aims to improve an individual’s well-being and mental health, to resolve or mitigate troublesome behaviors, beliefs, compulsions and thoughts. Click here for more information.

Hypnotherapy can help by teaching relaxation techniques, increasing self-awareness, and providing coping strategies for dealing with stress or trauma. Click here for more information.

CFT looks to help those who struggle with guilt, shame and self-criticism. Often these can be the driving forces behind other mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. Click here for more information.

My Commitment to You

I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings. My goal is to empower you to:

✓ Transform your relationship with food
✓ Build self-compassion and confidence
✓ Manage stress and emotional overwhelm
✓ Create healthy boundaries that protect your wellbeing
✓ Find lasting balance without restriction or guilt

Whether your focus is breaking free from emotional eating, finding peace with your body, or building genuine self-love, I will support you every step of the way.

Together, we’ll help you reclaim balance and move towards a life filled with confidence, clarity, and joy.

More About Me

Outside of my work, I have a bustling family that keeps me on my toes and brings me endless joy. I’m also a sports enthusiast who loves a good challenge – whether it’s Tough Mudder, a 5K obstacle run, or trying new activities that push my limits. Oh, and I absolutely love cats!

In my downtime, you’ll find me reading, dancing, writing, and meditating. Starting each day with a 20-minute meditation is my secret weapon – it energises me, clears my mind, and sets the tone for a focused and motivated day ahead.

Ready to Start Your Journey?

You don’t have to keep struggling with emotional eating, weight battles, or feeling out of balance. Change is possible, and it begins with taking the first step.

Together, we can create a calmer, more confident version of you – one where food no longer controls your life, and self-compassion guides the way forward.

If you’re ready to feel lighter in body and mind, I’d love to support you.
